In recent years, along with the rapid development of htgh-speed railway, China will built and transformat more than 500 seats railway station. The station is an important part of the railway network, also it is an important energy consumption unit of the railway departments. Among the various kinds of energy consumption in the railway station, lighting energy consumption accounts for nearly 40%, therefore, researching the lighting energy saving method of the railway station is to ensure the railway network can operate efficiency and it has a vital significance.Based on the new WuChang railway station as an example, the professional German lighting desigh software DIALux is choosed to establish the 3D simulation model of the new WuChang railway station. New lighting scheme is designed to compare with the original lighting scheme, so as to looking for the energy-saving lighting design method of large-scale railway station.From the lighting siulation analysis of the first-floor、second-floor waiting hall, somthing can be found that in lighting desigh, because the designers lack of the knowledge about various electric light source and lamps, appropriate light sources and lamps can not be choosed to different illumination area, causing electricity squandered. Thorough the research in this paper, the following lighting energy-saving methods can be concluded: On indoor lighting desigh, if the height below 4m, capillary energy-saving tricolor fluorescence powder lamp can be choosed; if the height above 5-7m, ceramic discharge metal halide lamp can be choosed.When designing the lighting of railway station, professional lighting design software must be used in important area such as large waiting hall or in second lighting design.Improving the surface reflection coefficient of the indoor ground、wall、ceiling surface is an effective method to realize lighting energy-saving.Making sure of the full use of natural light is another effective method to realize lighting energy-saving. When designing the lighting of large railway station, an intelligent lighting control system shoud be used. Designing good lighting control strategies can achieve efficiency.
