Objective:To investigate the influencing factors about the condom use among the FSWs who are in the low grade entertainment according to the theory of planned behavior. And to provide effective guidance for the HIV behavioral interventions and application of the theory of planned behavior in the future. Methods:Convenience and snowball sampling methods were taken to get the survey population. We collect the data by using the questionnaire which was designed according to the theory of planned behavior. Frequency, percent, mean and some indexes were used to describe the data. The exploratory factor analysis was conducted to verify the validity of the questionnaire. Finally, we used the structural equation model to get the direct and indirect effect among the latent variables. Then the factors which affect the behavior intention and behavior significantly were confirmed. Results:All of our targets are female. 61.39% of these people were lower than 25 year-old. 79.61% have not been educated higher than the junior middle school. Account for 80.39% has the stable sexual partner and 38.39% have been married. The survey also showed that the knowing rate about the knowledge of AIDS prevention is extremely low, only 3.86%. Among the answers of the TPB, nearly 60% was positive. The results of exploratory factor analysis indicate that the validity of questionnaire is good. The behavior attitude, subject normative, perceived behavior control directly affect the behavior intention, and the total effect was 0.517,0.127,0.086. By the behavior intention, behavior attitude, subject normative, perceived behavior indirectly affect the behavior, and the effect was 0.095,0.023,0.016. The behavior was directly affected by behavior intention and perceived behavior control, the direct effect was 0.183、0.638.Conclusion:The theory of planned behavior can well explain the condom use among the FSWs who are in the low grade entertainment. Behavior attitude is the most important factor influencing the behavior intention. The affect of the subjective norm, perceived behavior control to the behavior intention was not significant. Perceived behavior control and behavior intention were the two main factors influencing the behavior. And the effect of perceived behavior control to behavior is bigger than behavior intention..Innovation:This is the first time of the theory of planned behavior applied in the FSWs who are in the low grade entertainment in our country. And we find that the perceived behavior control, not behavior intention, was the most important factor to affect the condom use among this population.
