A Research on the Relationship between Fashion Product Development Process Management and Designer’s Creativity

Recently,with dramatic changes both in internal and external market,the Chinese apparel industry is undergoing a transformation from traditional manufacturing industry to the creative and cultural industry. Creative talents, as the core resources of creative economy, become more and more important in brand garment enterprises for the creativity has become the core competitiveness. How to regulate creative work and turn the creativity into productivity with fashion product development process management is important in this period.This thesis applies the metheds of literature research and case study,including interviews and other research methods,combined with the author’s experience as an internship of fashion product process management in a well-knowen enterprise,studied and drew up the relationship of product development process management and crativity. And also summed up the corresponding process management approach. According to the designer’s characteristics,the author divided the product process management(the independent variable) into 5 sub-variables, which are the management of emotion,quality,cost,standerd and policy decision of new product development process.The author tried to take the shortcomings formed in process and factors that influence creativity as the intermediate variables,and tried to prove the hypothesis the fashion product development process management and creativity is positively related by case tudy. After the relevant research ,the results showed that 5 sub-variables and dependent variable are positively related.Based on the research above, the assumption that fasnion product development process management(the independent variable) and creativity (the dependent variable) is positively related have been proved.
