The Analysis of Foreign Students’ Chinese Characters Acquisition Error and Teaching

This thesis collects the daily homework, dictation and final examination paper of two classes as the research materials, analyses the law and reason of Chinese characters acquisition errors and chooses the appropriate teaching methods. In the process of teaching, one class used the“separating reading and writing,more reading and less writing”method to teach Chinese characters.There are three kinds of errors about writing Chinese characters: stroke errors, component errors and wrongly written or mispronounced characters. The stroke errors are changes of stroke number, shape of stroke and combination of stroke. The property of Chinese characters, the students themselves and the textbooks cause these errors. I choose the theory of“six books”, component and culture to help teach Chinese characters writing.This thesis has five parts. Chapter one tells the origin, meaning and method of the research. Chapter two analyses the current situation of teaching Chinese characters writing and researches about it. Chapter three tells the writing errors and reasons. Chapter four discusses the appropriate teaching methods. Chapter five gives the conclusion of this research.
