As China’s economy development accelerates, a number of accidents caused by sea transportation, tourism, fishery and resources exploration, happen on the high sea despite the use of modern vessels and stringent safety requirements. Due to the complexity and changefulness of ocean environment, the sea accidents are sudden and catastrophic, which severely threatens the safety of human life and property. The sea searching is the last defense of human life and property. Its importance is obvious. And sea searching is the first step of sea salvage, which is the premise of the success of whole searching and rescue.There are many influential factors on sea searching, including Air pressure, wind flow, current, tide, Lake flows and own factors, mainly wind and current. In determining the search area, we must consider the radius of search area, it influence the POC of search area。The method to define the draft position is the vector synthesis method. In order to search fast and effectively, it is a must to use scientific and reasonable searching method. The correct searching method doesn’t only save the people in risk in the shortest time, but also save the searching resources. The searching plan of defining searching area and methods is the guideline of the searching action. According to contain probability to determine the search area and Search plan is the scientific method.In this paper, the literature reviewed on the drift model, the search mode, search technology, at home and abroad. Summarizes the various factors which affect marine drift and contains probability Existing research findings about the basis of changes in the main factors found after search, this thesis mainly makes researches in the POC of the searching area and how to define the best searching area. It proposes a new defining method of the possible searching area and the best searching area. Finally, it exploits a searching rescue system with Visual Basic.This result of this thesis provides references for perfecting the sea searching rescue. It also promotes to enhance the sea searching capability of our country.
