Cotton is planted in many places and the planted environment geographical differences are significant. The cotton production management systems which are established base in cotton growth model and GIS contribute is important to the growth of regional patterns of cotton, cotton production planning and to guide the rational use of natural resources. In this study, cottonseed quality simulation model, the quality ofcotton fiber integrated model as the core, MapObjects (MO) as the development platform, to map county-level administrative divisions as the expression of boll quality carrier of regional differences, the use of software engineering idea to construct a cotton boll quality regional distribution and Appraisal System based on model and GIS.By inputting the parameters of cotton species characteristic, climate and nitrogen application rate, it can analysis and estimate the Yangtze and Yellow River cotton area of the cotton boll quality and their spatial interpolation and important to the realization of the modernization of cotton production.With the comprehensive quality of cotton fiber model, the length of model, strength model, micronaire value models and process-based simulation model for cotton fiber length, cottonseed oil simulation model, cottonseed protein simulation model, based on the quality for the cotton bolls have territorial characteristics, the GIS was applied to the system,and the attribute database and spatial database were constructed, and the connection of spatial database with attribute database was realized,taking Visual Studio 2008 as development platform, MapObjects2.4 for the GIS tool to C# as development language, and explored GIS and model coupling technology, a cotton boll quality regional distribution and Appraisal System based on model and GIS was developed.It can realize the integration and coupling between the models Boll, between models and GIS, GIS and database.In the same time, each station of 238 cotton lords in the Yellow River reaches and the Yangtze River reaches can be calculated and predicted for cotton seed protein, cotton seed oil, cotton fiber length,strength, micromaire and integrated fiber quality. Showing the result by using the form, carve and chart. According to the simulation results, the system in accordance with the classification, automatic generation of thematic maps for the regional distribution and appraisal.Case study and testing of the system were carried out with the data from eco-sites of Jiangsu province. The result indicated that cotton lords in the Yellow River reaches and the Yangtze River reaches can be calculated and achieved the regional distribution and appraisal. The CBQ’s interfaces were very clear,its function menu was definite and easy to operate.and its operation are reliable and safe:During the forecasting operation on the cotton boll quality,CBQ shows a agile and arbitrary ability; The display and inquiry format of the result is colorful, beautiful and automatic. System evaluation results were consistent with the local situation.it can help guide the regional high-quality cotton production.
