With the rapid development of the Internet , management and control of network traffic for network applications , has become an important subject of research networks . Effective identification and management of network applications are not only enables network managers to keep abreast of the operational status of the network , and make timely adjustments to network problems and troubleshoot . In addition , the growing network of p2p traffic is rapidly engulfed the network bandwidth , we need to control this p2p traffic ; the rise of social networking , network easily filled with violence , reactionary remarks adverse information on the network content analysis is very urgent needs . But the great difficulty of this type of business are often transmitted through an encrypted , identify control deep packet inspection method commonly used is difficult to take effect, we need to use other means of identification for such traffic . This article describes a general message depth detection identification methods ; for encryption class traffic , Thunder and skype some behavioral characteristics on the basis of the business in the identification of a detailed analysis of a widely used linux firewall netfilter framework , and gives the application of this framework to identify the characteristics of general packet method then through netfilter comes nf_conntrack mechanism to achieve the identification of encrypted traffic characteristics , given a way to identify such traffic .
