Analysis on the Credibility of Government in Present China’s Society

The credibility of government has powerful meaning to the legitimacy of political governance. In the period of China’s contemporary society transformation, building a socialist market economy with Chinese characteristics is a long-term and tough task. Integrity, which is an indispensable element to the mature market economy, is more essential to enterprises and individuals. In the respect of government, the integrity comes from the improvement of credibility of government. This article is to discuss causes of present government’s credibility in china’s contemporary society trough analyzing present status of government’s credibility and in the meanwhile, propose measures and means of how to improve the credibility of government. In short, building of government’s credibility has far-reaching influence to the promoting of Socialist modernization and building of harmonious society. There are mainly three parts in this article:Part 1:analysis on government’s credibility. By elaborating contents of integrity, government’s integrity and government’s credibility, present status of government’s credibility has been discussed in both view of government and the public. Based on the analysis, causes of the credibility of government has been proved, in the aspects of China’s traditional administrative culture influences, relations adjustment of social interests, structural transformation, social uncertainty and alienation of public power.Part 2:principles and methods of building of credibility of government. Reasonable and lawful principle, balance principle, Open and transparent, moral and legal principle compose the basic principle of building government’s credibility. Promoting Methods of government’s credibility and improvement of governmental staff’s integrity have also been discussed in this part.Part 3:the meaning of improvement of government’s credibility. The promotion of government’s credibility will not only contribute to improving government’s prestige and the construction of harmonious society, but also will be more meaningful to further academic research on political ethics.
