Study on Attribution and Countermeasures of Lahu Ethnic Minority Students’ Low Academic Achievement in Menghun Town

This study visit, I found on the Yunnan Province Menghun town He opened Village Lahu student learning in Discussing the problem of low academic achievement , mainly as Lahu students prevalence of poor academic performance , students intermittent dropouts frequency hair. Low academic achievement of minority students has aroused the concern of many scholars , in the analysis of the problems of education in minority areas , people often due to lack of support on specific ethnic regional socio-economic forces . Indeed , inadequate investment in economic analysis of the issue of education , is very convincing . However, in addition , perhaps there should be factors of education development is lagging behind , these factors may be deep-seated , such as the ecological environment of the specific ethnic minority areas , ethnic traditional concept , these factors between the minority differences will produce different effects on different ethnic education . Lahu parents , the Lahu community education coordinators , school teachers , and Lahu students to conduct investigations through the use of in - depth interviews , participant observation, and other methods , the survey found that the main reason for Lahu Low Academic Achievement : (1 ) Lahu parents in school education is not high ; (2 ) Lahu parents of lower educational standards ; (3 ) the rise of the tea trade frequent intermittent drop - out students ; ( 4) mountain poor teaching conditions and mountain Lahu lack of pre-school education of children ; ( 5 ) Lahu traditional culture and modern culture of the school conflict and ethnic bias caused by the cultural conflict between nations . Discussing Low academic achievement problems cause attribution analysis , the paper put forward the following countermeasures to improve Lahu Low Academic Achievement : ( 1 ) the creation of local courses ; ( 2) Schools should focus on students' management ; (3) the withdrawal point and the school should be adapted to local conditions ; (4) to increase investment in the local pre-school education ; (5) the level of local teachers ; (6) school education to strengthen exchanges between the various ethnic groups .
