Research on Evaluation of TD-HSDPA Resource Utilization and Optimization

Compared to 2G network, the main advantage of TD-SCDMA network is that it can afford high speed data and multimedia services. It is predicted that 90% of business in TD networks comes from data services.TD-HSDPA significantly improve system performance by the introduction of HARQ、AMC、16QAM and other advanced technology. Currently,3G data services is the top priority for the current operators, but 97% of the complaints on the 3G network is related to data services. This is mainly due to the immaturity of TD and the shortage of related research. Therefore, research on optimization of TD-HSDPA resources is essential to TD development.The existing development of TD-SCDMA is introduced firstly, followed by a brief introduction of the main technical characteristics of TD-SCDMA and TD-HSDPA. Then the circumstance and essentiality of evalution on TD-HSDPA resource ulitization and optimization are presented.Several feasibile techniques for networking&resource allocation are presented with their advantages and disadvantages analyzed respectively in the second part. Networking strategy and resource allocation recommendations for the current network is proposed as well.A recommended estimation system, with respect to user perception, is proposed in the third part,followed by the detail introduction of every test procedure, which is the basis of optimization. Then with a great deal of TD tests and experiments, an analysis scheme and test program for the utilization efficiency of TD-HSDPA is proposed. Meanwhile, resource utilization assessment methods is provided for HSDPA resource-constrained problem in future network optimization. Then, a comprehensive evaluation analysis is shown accoording to the field-test results of TD-HSDPA.Finally, TD-HSDPA optimizations are brought out in the four aspects, network coverage, capacity, channel configuration and quality of service. The principles and schemes for expansion is presented for those network problems which can not be solved by optimizing.
