The Internet of Things (IOT) to be considered another revolutionary development after PC, the Internet and mobile communications industry. Its goal is to achieve worldwide interoperability between anything, in anytime, at anyplace and provide intelligent services. This article mainly research on one of the key supporting technology named localization technology. The research will not only greatly promote the development of other IOT core technology but also has played an active role in the promotion for IOT industrial applications.In this article a variety of localization methods and using scenes in IOT are investigated, then discuss their advantages as well as disadvantages.’Based on the analysis of existing localization algorithms, two short-range wireless localization algorithms are presented in this article. The first one is two-dimension planar localization, and an actual experimental system is demonstrated to prove accuracy improvement of the localization results. Another localization algorithm is spatial localization algorithm, the specific implement steps of which is given, and take two specific scenarios for example to indicate the its application prospects. Also a location-based service framework is proposed, and through it we can easily achieved intelligence services based on positions information. This article uses the digital home in IOT as the background to implement the intelligent control services. Both of these two methods are based on consideration of the node regular deployment to achieve the more accurate localization results, at the same time suggest the range measurement improvement method to obtain the final accuracy. The common advantages of these two algorithms include:no extra hardware requirement (localization accuracy can be improve by deploying proper hardware), provide range accuracy improvement method to increase localization results. Both the proposed algorithms enrich and improve the variety and types of localization algorithms in IOT, at the same time it has played a positive role in promote the research and development of IOT technologies.
