The regulatory emotional self-efficacy derives from the self-efficacy theory, refers to the confidence of individuals to regulate their own emotions effectively. It plays a very important role when individuals meet various emotions and need to manage it. Individual’s regulatory emotional self-efficacy will directly determine how he regulates the emotion that produced, and the effect of regulation will be directly reflected in the individual’s behavior. As a kind of self-efficacy, the regulatory emotional self-efficacy is the people’s inner psychological mechanism to regulate emotions. To research the structure and function of the regulatory emotional self-efficacy is to explore the emotional regulation theory, but also perfect the theory of self-efficacy. At present, the research on the emotion regulation self-efficacy is still in the initial stage at home and abroad. This study explores the model and mechanism of the regulatory emotional self-efficacy by carding and analyzing the literature and the empirical investigation.Based on the existing literature and the collected empirical data, this study draws up "the Initial Regulatory Emotional Self-Efficacy Questionnaire" according to the psychometric methods. After that, we construct the empirical model of the regulatory emotional self-efficacy, and work out "the Regulatory Emotional Self-Efficacy Questionnaire" according to this model. Finally, we inspect the mechanism of the regulatory emotional self-efficacy on the investigation of 503 college students by "the Regulatory Emotional Self-Efficacy Questionnaire". The results showed that:The construction of the regulatory emotional self-efficacy consists of five factors. The factors includes the perceived self-efficacy in managing guilt/shy (GUI), the perceived self-efficacy in managing despondency/distress (DES), the perceived self-efficacy in managing anger/irritation (ANG), the perceived self-efficacy in managing awkwardness(AWK) and the perceived self-efficacy in expressing positive affect (POS).The regulatory emotional self-efficacy questionnaire has acceptable reliability and validity and can be used as an effective tool to measure the regulatory emotional self-efficacy. The mechanism of the regulatory emotional self-efficacy.①The regulatory emotional self-efficacy is significantly positively related to the subjective well-being. The regulatory emotional self-efficacy has a direct effect on subjective well-being, but also has an indirect effect on subjective well-being through interpersonal communication self-efficacy.②The regulatory emotional self-efficacy is significantly negatively related to the depression. The regulatory emotional self-efficacy a direct effect on depression, but also has an indirect effect on depression through the academic self-efficacy.There are sex differences in the regulatory emotional self-efficacy of college students. The regulatory emotional self-efficacy of male is higher than the regulatory emotional self-efficacy of female. Specifically, the regulatory self-efficacy of male is higher than the regulatory self-efficacy of female on the negative emotions; the regulatory self-efficacy of female is higher than the regulatory self-efficacy of male on the positive emotions.
