Water disaster takes place very freqwently in our country and coal is the fundamental energy of our nation. So water disaster of coal mines is an important problem with the relation to national economy and the people’s livelihood. It not only affects the normal production of coal mine, but also will cause casualties. We must perfect mine hydrology monitoring system.Mine hydrology monitoring system is designed to resolve these existing problems, such as the prevention of coal mine’s water disaster is a diffcult work, the traditional method of monitor hydrology costs a lot of labour power, there is easy to be human error in the measuring data, the error will affect the accuracy of analysis and it’s not good for the prevention and warning of the disaster and so on. The mine hydrology monitoring system which has been put into use can accomplish the intended functions. It has made some effect on the forecast and warning of water disaster. But there are still some problems such as the incorrect data from field, abnormality warning or data losing. So its reliability remains to be further improved. In this paper, based on the thoroughly study of the basic theory of reliability, mine hydrology monitoring system will be described in detail and its reliability will be analysed with the reliability analyse technology. Falt-tree modle of every part of the system will be established. And these parts will be redesigned with advanced reliability technology including mistakes avoiding technologys, fault self-detection and self-diagnosis technology, fault-tolerant redundancy technologys, fail-safe design technology. Specifically, mistakes avoiding technologys enhance component derating using, simpilifying design, electromagnetic shielding and grounding technology, etc. Except these mistakes avoiding technology, double modle redundancy technology, software self-recovery technology and redundant arrays of inexpensive disks technology are used. With this design, the mean time to failure of this system is prolonged, and the mean time to repair of this system is shorted. So the reliability and safty of the system is raised.
