Due to the brittle materials, masonry structure has a vulnerable performance in earthquake. By the pass of using years and improvement of seismic defensive criterion, the problem is becoming outstanding that more and more masonry structures need to be strengthened. The masonry structures existing broadly in China and many historic buildings all over the world need to repaired and strengthened. Being used to strengthen masonry structures, especially ancient buildings, Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) has key virtues other strengthening methods have not, for its low weight, high strengths, easy to handle, rot proof, wear proof, endurance, good applicability, no appearance change of strengthened structures, etc. At present, researches to FRP strengthening masonry have just started, and are lack of experimental data, design theories and all kinds of necessary codes and norms to guide and promote its applications in projects. So the researches to this respect are of great importance.This paper expatiates actuality and existing reinforced methods of masonry structure in China, especially the study and applications actuality of the CFRP strengthening technique. Then using software ANSYS, the Finite element analysis done on brick walls, and comparing the actual test, the feasibility of finite element modeling and analysis of brick wall is verified. On the internal stress distribution after reinforcement, crack distribution and load-displacement curve for a more comprehensive analysis and comparison of the effects of different reinforcement scheme, discussed the study area CFRP ratio (width) and paste method of wall shear performance. Finite element analysis showed that this paper, CFRP width is 190mm, the carbon fiber reinforced best, continue to increase width, the utilization of carbon fiber is not high; Well paste the way the font-type and cross-type levels of both the advantages Bearing capacity and deformation ability of have a more substantial increase. In the case of conditional, should be well shaped with paste way.Finally, the unsettled issues have been put forward according to this research.
