W -band microwave circuit is that the country has not carried out a large-scale application , the high cost of its circuit components , are few , small size , difficult process . W-band millimeter wave band atmospheric window has an irreplaceable role in the band circuit in communication as well as military applications . How to take advantage of the W-band signal in the case of domestic W-band local oscillator is not yet mature , important research value . To address this issue , this paper studies the harmonic conversion scheme for the W-band signal to a lower frequency of the local oscillator of the W -band radio frequency signal to an intermediate frequency . The biggest advantage of this harmonic mixer program is that it can greatly reduce the mixer local oscillator frequency , while saving costs . This paper analyzes a variety of different mixer , nonlinear devices , circuit installation process for the a harmonic mixer pros and cons , to discuss the anti-parallel diode mixer network analysis method proposed improvements to the mixer diode modeling . Waveguide - microstrip transition gradually reflecting recovery network , matching network , and the frequency selective network design and simulation optimization , and finally produce a W-band microstrip four the harmonic mixers samples to be tested . The results show that the minimum conversion loss of the mixer to 17dB, the LO - IF isolation greater than 50dB . Frequency selective network design process , this paper presents a conversion by the low-pass filter for ultra-wideband filter , and create an ultra-wideband filter samples , size of only 8.2mm x was 5.85 mm and less than the majority of foreign similar ultra- wide-band filter . Finally, we balanced harmonic mixer design attempts by theoretical analysis and simulation design provides a possible method for the improvement of the harmonic mixer .
