Supervisory Information System (SIS) is an important part of the information construction in power plant. With the development of modern technology and the increasing level of automation, the production management activities in power plant have a growing demand for all types of information. Only DCS and MIS can not meet the need of the power production and operation management, therefore, in the late 1990s, SIS came into being, timely fill the gap between DCS and MIS.On December 11,2008, the National Development and Reform Commission issued "on the Approval of Ningxia Yuanyanghu power plant" and approved the construction of two 600,000 kilowatts power level of domestic supercritical coal-fired generating units of air-cooled applications. The first-stage construction started on March 26,2009. Since the beginning of the project, Yuanyanghu power plant takes SIS as an important part of the information system in the plant. It was overall designed by Shandong Electric Power Engineering Consulting Institute Corp, Ltd. and implemented by Shandong Luneng Software Technology Co., Ltd.Yuanyanghu Power Plant Supervisory Information System aims to optimize the economic operation of the unit, effectively guide the production and operation of power generation, achieve energy saving, lower power costs, improve enterprise efficiency.Information system platform with high performance, high security, feature-rich, etc. can carry out online monitoring of technical and economic indicators, dynamic energy loss analysis, optimization and performance management. Combined with Shandong Electric Power Research Institute expert’s opinion, the development of contrast of power generation load, plant performance computing model, operating economic analysis model, rate for incorporation into the power network can be carried through. They effectively guide the optimal operation of the unit and the plant and make SIS really an expert assistant, then achieve the aim for optimal operation, energy saving, reduction of electricity production cost and improvement of the overall benefit. Yuanyanghu Power Plant SIS can be divided into data acquisition layer. data storage layer and application layer data in the three-tiered distributed architecture by the data flow and application methods. Its main functions are divided into unit analysis, auxiliary system, plant-level analysis, load distribution, off-line input, data management and TDM, of which the most important module is unit analysis that can be refined for real-time monitoring, performance monitoring, energy loss analysis, energy auditing, operation navigation, thermal test, alarm management, information, statistics and monitoring equipment. The modules were designed to meet the functional requirements of different people. Operators do not have to go to the running environment and they can monitor unit running state, and timely access to alarm information. They can optimize the unit running and improve unit economics indicators. Managers can reduce costs and improve economic benefits by real-time data and all kinds of reports which can be used as reference data and decision support of production and management.
