The Feasibility Study of the Applicance of Health-Related Fitness Theory to the Reform of the Elective Course of Field and Track in College Illustrated by the Example of Fujian Province

For recent years,with the development of educational reform,the college physical education course is maintaining a good momentum of growth,but the elective course of track and field doesn’t have due development,but even starts to tail off.Field and track course has a significant meaning to promote integrated development of students,so the reform of this course is of great urgency.This paper takes the elective course of track and field in common colleges and universities in Fujian Province as the research object.And by using the research methods of literature searching,survey procedure,mathematical statistics and logical analysis,etc.,the paper investigates and studies the situation of the arrangement for this elective course.Moreover it brings health-related fitness concepts in the track and field course,and focuses on students’ health, explores the new train of thought to the elective course of track and field,and discusses the relevant content and approaches to promote the development of this course.The survey’s result shows that the elective course of the field and track are gradually dying out by few students and classes.The major reasons are as following:the curriculum provision is imperfect;the content of courses are too systematized,specialized and lack of means to keep the subject interesting,the evaluation methodology to the students is too limited.Health-related fitness theory and field and track course do correspond with each other that have a significant meaning and value.There are many corresponding points,for example making up the lackness of health speculative knowledge of modern university students;being rich in the theory and pratice of field and track course;Implementing the teaching way which is moving from teach to learn.As a result of that we can do a comprehensive evaluation of students’ study.There are much significance and value too which is considering the short-term and long-term target;fulfilling students’ individual health need with fitness theory and practical method;unifying the teaching,studying and practicing of track and field courses;referring the life-long sports measurement.The content of the combination of health-related fitness theory and elective courses of the track and field should reflect the fitness,culture and scientific sense and focus on feasibility,practicability and interesting;The principal part of the teaching is student which should be edified and inducted by personal and various method;the assessment of student should be comprehensive,personal and developing.
