Diagnosis and Therapy of Neurofibromatosis Type Ⅱ

Objective: To investigate neurofibromatosis - Ⅱ type (Neurofibromatosis type 2, NF2) diagnosis and treatment, improve awareness of the disease . Methods: A retrospective analysis of 2003 since the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University neurosurgery were treated by surgery or clinically , pathologically confirmed seven cases of neurofibromatosis - Ⅱ type , and to the relevant literature. Results: In the 7 patients , 2 males and 5 females , mean 27.6 years . Have bilateral acoustic neuroma six cases , appear side acoustic neuroma one case , one case with optic nerve glioma , meningioma one case of merger , consolidation neurofibroma outside the spinal canal and nerve sheath tumors in 2 cases. 6 patients after surgical resection, 1 patient to give up surgery. Surgical results acceptable. Conclusion: Neurofibromatosis - Ⅱ and clinical and MRI have certain characteristics , MRI plain and enhanced diagnosis of the disease is the primary screening tool, the best choice for total resection surgery is currently no effective cure .
