English and Chinese legal language is the outward manifestation of the legal system in English and Chinese, the two legal systems interact bound to the aid of an important means to translate this indispensable. Therefore, legal translation not only affect the correct understanding and application of the law, and more importantly, will also affect the effectiveness of the process of international exchanges and political and economic realization of the goal. Currently, our legal translation in the ascendant, the translation of academia, law, academia, and other relevant sectors of society concerned about the very public. However, in the present circumstances, our legal translation work in general is still lagging behind developed Western countries, legal translation theory and the specific use of the further deepening and improvement of the primary task of the contemporary legal translation researchers. Legal translation is a communicative activities, to cross legal culture and cross-language of the law must accept a certain translation theory has a strong theoretical and practical guidance. Many theories proposed by scholars from various countries of the East and the West, Eugene Nida's \Nida, the translation is recycling information with primitive sense and style most appropriate and natural information in the target language. Use their theoretical guidance specific translation, Nida further proposed more realistic Functional translation practices. At the same time, in view of the characteristics of legal English language, functional equivalence theory in legal language translation studies showed an irreplaceable role. This article intends to Nida's functional equivalence theory, the language of the law from the English and Chinese vocabulary, syntactic similarities and differences and its translation to reflect on the problems that exist in the current legal language translation. Legal English vocabulary large number of archaic words and Latin, more than the terms used and less use pronouns frequently tied for the use of dual nouns as well as more than a noun; syntactic aspects, legal English stressed and strict laws, language organization logical and strong , the use of long sentences, complex sentences, passive sentences and a large number of complex noun structure. These linguistic features of the legal text has a distinct personality, and personality is the basic elements that can not be ignored in the choice of translation method and the judge asked standard. Based on the above analysis, the paper argues that legal translations functional equivalence theory has important guiding principle of legal translation, legal translation application and functional equivalence translation theory, from the most simple terms, the practice of legal translation to syntactic quite realistic guiding significance. Practice has proved that the theory of functional equivalence in the guiding legal translation function significantly, to achieve the breakthrough of considerable practical significance of outstanding legal translation. Legal translation functionality and other means of mainly manifested in the following aspects: First legal translation the translator must understand and grasp the similarities and differences between Chinese and English languages; Second, you must have a certain legal expertise; Third better function, legal translation, the translator should be oriented to the target language, give full play to the advantage of the target language, and strive to make the translation natural, smooth, but also have the authority and seriousness of the legal text. This article can be roughly divided into three parts. The first chapter is the first part, a brief introduction of the background knowledge of law, legal language and legal translation. Chapter II Chapter is the second part of this paper, detailed theoretical basis of this paper and applied to the text of the law in accordance with the third chapter describes the functional equivalence theory, the practice of translation. The second chapter discusses the characteristics of legal English language; expand the third chapter around the theoretical basis of this article, discussed in detail the functional equivalence theory; fourth chapter is the practical part of this paper, the authors use a large number of instances, reveals English The text of the law is how to achieve functional equivalence. The fifth chapter is the third part of the paper, the conclusion of this article, Summary and Conclusion of how to achieve functional equivalence in translation of legal texts. Legal Translation is a new field of translation studies, the translator has both solid bilingual skills, proficient knowledge of law. The excellent translator should have skill interlingual conversion, and legal translation scientifically accurate cognitive ability and effective criticism, to achieve functional equivalence in the target language. The authors suggest that the effective combination of legal translation theory and practice to promote the English text of the law will further promote the translation more accuracy, authoritative and normative.
