Clock Extraction Study and Phase Shift Control Circuit Design Based on 160Gbit/s OTDM Transmission System

Optical Time Division Multiplexing(OTDM) system is an effective way to enhance the capacity of optical fiber communication.It can use a single light source, which has lower costs compared to Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing(DWDM) system,and make the management of fiber amplifier simplify.Especially,compared with DWDM,OTDM system has no Four-wave mixing(FWM) and Roman scattering generated by various superposed power.When the product of bit x distance is same, dispersion and dispersion slope compensation in OTDM system is easier than DWDM system.Up and down road on mode of OTDM technology change easily to achieve high-capacity fiber optic network.Based on deep analysis of the status about OTDM system at home and abroad,my paper,which is connected with 863 research topics,gives deep study on clock extraction of 160Gbit/s OTDM system,and completes the following work:My paper gives detail study on electrical phase-locked loop clock extraction,clock extraction of opto-electronic hybrid oscillators,opto-electronic phase-locked loop clock extraction and all-optical clock extraction,and also compares and analyzes advantage and disadvantage of clock extraction method which are mentioned above.On this basis, it proposes two feasible programs,which are electric PLL clock extraction and injected mode-locked clock extraction based on SOA,and gains important experimental results during experiments.Using MATLAB software,it gives the simulation analysis about some imperfect factors in 160Gbit/s OTDM system,which includes OTDM signal difference and the time delay difference.According to data from the experiment,OTDM clock signal changes in the various stages of transmission,and noises effect the clock extracted from OTDM signal.Clock extraction experiments need a phase shifter which has a higher accuracy.Our project plans to use a six-bit digital phase shifter produced by Mimix Company,which need to design external control circuit.In my paper,I finish the schematic design,PCB drawing board,and software program using Keil Compiler.Eventually,complete the control to phase shifter and display of phase shifter degree.
