Development of Intelligent Online Monitoring System for Asynchronous Motors Based on LabVIEW

With the motors used in the extensive application of modern industry, especially for the medium and large AC Asynchronous motors used as the key power equipments in business, they play a vital role. However, once the medium and large-sized motors emerged fault, it will stop production for maintenance caused for a long cycle, thus consuming large fee and reducing efficiency. In order to be able to conduct real-time online monitoring of electric motors to raise the level of motor fault diagnosis for avoiding or reducing losses to life and property, the test of online monitoring system for the motors were studied.There are many types of motor failure introduced briefly here. The paper studied the stator current analysis, temperature measurement method and the vibration analysis in detail, and deeply researched the law of the eccentric rotor bar breaking fault principle and air-gap eccentricity. By choosing the corresponding sensor, the corresponding hardware circuit design, the collected signal was sent into the computer to process by LabVIEW because of its powerful signal processing capability. Then the software do time domain, frequency domain and trend analysis of the signal to extract fault feature with the MATLAB/Simulink co-simulation analysis. Besides these, the paper set up a simple mathematical model to compare the test results to verify the analysis in order to achieve the online asynchronous motor condition monitoring and fault diagnosis, and the corresponding alarm. In order to improve the accuracy and precision of signal acquisition, the paper also carried out the whole period of sampling and simultaneous sampling.Based on the above theory, this paper developed a real-time online monitoring system hardware and software using LabVIEW to implement the design. Finally, the paper made an experiment on rotor test platform by using this system to verify the reliability and practicality.
