The Design of Stepper Motor Drive System Based on Adaptive Algorithm

Stepper motor is used more than sixty percent as servo control unit in nowadays digital control processing and producing system, economical automatic control, and positioning control system, mainly in those required high-resolution open-loop positional control system and low speed open-loop drive system. But there is a congestion area in stepper motor open loop control which must be avoided in use, or it will result in vibrating in the running process of motor. It will create the result of losing step when serious. So it will greatly better the system performance of stepper motor with the closed-loop control. A new stepper motor control system based self adaptive control to realize the closed-loop control on stepper motor.At the aspect of control policy, the author deeply studied the adaptive control theory and robust control theory after fully understand the structure and the operation principle of stepper motor in order to improve the performance of the stepper motor control system. The thought of robust control was integrated into the stepper motor adaptive control system, and then form a stepper motor adaptive controller which is fit for the demands of stepper motor. At the same time, the adaptive algorithm was proposed to realize the better control to the stepper motor.At the base of study above, the drive circuit and the feedback system of stepper motor were designed in connection with the operation and drive procedure of stepper motor to make a closed loop control system of stepper motor. In this paper there is a protecting circuit designed in order to prevent the damage situation of stepper motor.In order to testify the control strategy of stepper motor designed in this paper, the application of MATLAB in adaptive control was studied. The stepper motor adaptive controller emulation experiment was conducted in MATLAB/SIMULINK software. The designed stepper motor adaptive controller is comparatively an ideal control theory by means of analyze and contrast. The control system possesses higher functional performance to better ameliorate the phenomenon of step losing and machine shaking, achieving the on line amending.
