Objective: This study observed vascular dementia (VD) and without dementia, vascular cognitive impairment (VCIND) plasma ADMA, Hcy and serum NO level, research ADMA of Hcy and NO on vascular cognitive impairment (VCI relationship), and between the electrophysiological characteristics; analysis of event-related potentials of the VCI-P300 (ERP-P300) and ADMA, Hcy and NO with VCI, ERP-P300, VCI prevention, early diagnosis and treatment to provide a theoretical basis. Methods: Our hospital in May 2007 -2008 in July of Neurology, 120 cases of cerebral infarction cases, all cases are in line with the 1995 Fourth National Cerebrovascular Disease Conference revised diagnostic criteria. (40 cases in each group) at the level of cognitive function is divided into: group of vascular dementia (VD group) and without dementia, vascular cognitive impairment the group (VCIND group) and a control group that normal cognitive function in patients with cerebral infarction. 1 ADMA, Hcy levels in plasma was detected by high performance liquid chromatography. 2. Application of nitric enzyme reduction colorimetric assay of serum NO level. 3 Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD), the Clinical Dementia Rating Scale (CDR), Hachinski ischemia index scale neuropsychological and the U.S. National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) evaluation of patients, NDI-200 EMG evoked potential, oddball stimulus sequence, according to the Institute of International EEG 10-20 system electrode placement of patients with auditory ERP-P300 detection, general laboratory Information provided by automatic biochemical analyzer TBA-120FR completed. : 1.VD VCIND group and the control group, plasma ADMA levels were (0.865 ± 0.152) μmol / L (0.725 ± 0.110) μmol / L (0.402 ± 0.122) μmol / L, plasma Hcy levels were (41.052 ± 8.677) μmol / L, (27.518 ± 7.420) μmol / L, (20.944 ± 8.943) μmol / L, serum NO levels were (26.41 ± 8.45) μmol / L, (45.54 ± 12.96) μmol / L, (73.78 ± 11.63) μmol / L, compared with the control group and VCIND group, the VD group plasma ADMA, Hcy level was significantly elevated serum NO levels were significantly reduced; compared with the control group, the plasma ADMA VCIND, homocysteine significantly increased serum NO levels were significantly reduced, were statistically significant (P lt; 0.05). Description ADMA, Hcy and cognitive dysfunction are closely related. Correlation analysis, ADMA and Hcy was positively correlated with ADMA was negatively correlated with NO, of Hcy was negatively correlated with NO, there is a statistically significant (P lt; 0.05). 3.VD group the VCIND and the control group P300 latency were (386.85 ± 19.28) ms (351.20 ± 15.94) ms (327.36 ± 17.65) ms, P300 amplitude, respectively (4.37 ± 2.84) μv (5.98 ± 2.64 ) μv, (6.81 ± 2.30) μv, MMSE score (19.48 ± 2.94), (25.73 ± 2.97), (29.40 ± 2.12), compared with the control group and VCIND group, the VD group of P300 latency was significantly prolonged, P300 Volatility significantly lower (P lt; 0.05); compared with the control group the, VCIND group was significantly prolonged P300 latency (P lt; 0.05), amplitude decreased was no statistical difference (P gt; 0.05). Spearman correlation analysis, ADMA, of Hcy level and MMSE score was negatively correlated, with P300 latency was positive related (P lt; 0.05); NO with MMSE score was positively correlated, with P300 latency was negatively correlated (P lt; 0.05) but ADMA, Hcy and NO and P300 amplitude was not related to sex (P gt; 0.05), indicating that ADMA, Hcy may be related to the degree of cognitive dysfunction. Infarction size and location of cognitive dysfunction have some relevance, but the infarct area and parts of plasma ADMA, Hcy levels no correlation. Multiple regression analysis, ADMA, Hcy levels may be independent predictors of cognitive dysfunction. Conclusion: VCI plasma ADMA, Hcy levels increase, ADMA and Hcy was positively correlated, indicating that ADMA, Hcy is closely related with the VCI. ERP-P300 can objectively reflect the VCI degree of cognitive impairment, the clinical diagnostic value of VCI. ADMA, Hcy levels may be a correlation with the degree of cognitive dysfunction and ERP-P300. Area and parts of cerebral infarction and cognitive dysfunction has some correlation, but the infarct area and parts of plasma ADMA, Hcy levels no correlation. ADMA, Hcy levels may be an independent predictor of cognitive dysfunction.
