I under the guidance of the instructor to EAN13 barcode image formats , for example, conducted a bar code image recognition algorithm research work, the main purpose of the study is through the use of various digital image processing technology , the image of the bar code portion of the feature extraction , analysis, rapid , accurate and efficient barcode identify the image content. Under the guidance of the instructor , I through continuous exploration and research, finally completed work on the bar code image recognition and barcode image recognition process is divided into the following three steps: 1 ) image preprocessing : gray and by appropriate binarization algorithm, the barcode image convert color images to black and white binary image , which will strip bar area is characterized by empty out the bar code is in the image of an empty and other content to distinguish .2 ) barcode region localization : to find the code area of the number of changes of the characteristics of air , to find the code area , to determine a rectangular region that contains the complete code , this region of the extracted image . 3 ) Result Code recognition: the image code area by calculating the width of the air , the width of the air is converted to the corresponding \This paper discusses the barcode image recognition technology, is in ordinary CCD digital camera module to obtain a complete picture of the rectangle to identify, with the use of various current barcode reader linear image scanning means of identification , image preprocessing and additional barcode regional positioning two steps. At the same time , taking into account the practical application of different photo effects , on the identification bar code recognition process has been improved, changed from a single identification number identification using adaptive processes, automatically increases barcode image geometric transformation processing or barcode image sharpening smoothing pretreatment processes, etc. to improve the recognition rate and accuracy, which will correct barcode recognition rate increased to 99.9 % level, fully meet the requirements of practical application .
