Of Asphalt Pavement early damage is serious , while abroad, but there has been a service life of over 40 years of long-life asphalt pavement under heavy traffic conditions . One of the highlights of long-life asphalt pavement is to determine each structure layer functions according to the situation of the pavement structure layer by force , in order to select the various structural layer material , pavement structure is designed according to their function . Current view of our asphalt pavement , this study Asphalt Pavement functional partition theory and methods , and to provide guidance for the design of the pavement structure , pavement material selection , and is of great significance to extend the service life of the asphalt pavement . From the mechanical point of view , the asphalt pavement damage mode is divided into the Top-down cracks , fatigue cracks and ruts three categories . Based on three types of damage mode , this paper first discusses the pavement responses characteristic : With the ANSYS finite element software , the establishment of a full-thickness pavement , three-dimensional finite element model of the flexible pavement and modular pavement , pavement structure along the direction of the carriageway level strain were calculated and analyzed the first principal strain and shear stress along the deep variation derived asphalt layer thickness H1 and elastic modulus E1 above pavement responses , and recommend measures to reduce road damage . Research pavement responses based on the combination of pavement actual experience , road asphalt layer is divided into five functional areas : Ⅰ - the protected area of the road surface , Ⅱ - destabilization type rut sensitive areas , the Ⅲ district - Top -down cracks in sensitive areas , Ⅳ District - fatigue cracks in sensitive areas , Ⅴ District - function sensitive areas .
