Of many economically developed areas of highway construction has entered a period of reconstruction conservation , the combined asphalt pavement early damage is more serious , urgent need of an effective conservation measures in order to improve road conditions , and to save maintenance costs . By the small size asphalt mixture forming a thin layer of asphalt overlay can be used to prevent the road continues to deteriorate attenuation performance , improve pavement smoothness , restore skid resistance of the road surface , the original road reinforcement , pavement one of the effective means of preventive maintenance . Therefore, in recent years has been widely used in road works . This article first, with California bearing ratio test , through dry mixed aggregate carrying capacity analysis to determine the small particle size mixes boundaries sieve size . Next in the full analysis , draw on existing gradation and mixture ratio design method based on research applicable to repair the road surface deformation control cracking of the road surface and restore the road surface skid resistance, small size asphalt mixture material composition design approach and corresponding with than the key control indicators , and related indoor performance test verification tests and material properties . Study different types of small particle size on the basis of analysis of the applicability and rotation compaction characteristics of three kinds of asphalt mixture , mix construction process . Finally , carry out analysis thin layer overlay materials costing and cost-effectiveness .
