MIL-STD-1553B bus is a universal, airplane-carried, and multiple-channel serial bus standard which meets real-time, integrality and reliability, and it extends from aeronautics to astronautics. With its widely application in the spacecraft, communication board with the 1553B interface is needed in the space-ground test device. Meanwhile, the computer bus technology develops continuously, and the special feature of PCI bus’s design which is independent of CPU and its advantages as the high performance, low cost and open architecture, makes it develop rapidly.The paper first analyzes 1553B bus protocol, and then presents the design of the 1553B interface board based on PCI bus. In the hardware level, the paper emphasizes the component of the board and FPGA control logic. The design adopts FlightCORE- 1553 instead of the traditional BU-61580 for the 1553B bus protocol chip, which effectively improves the system integrality and the use flexibility. In the software level, PCI driver and application software are introduced in detail. At last, the designed board is tested and the paper is summarized.The research of the paper lays solid foundation for practical design and application of the space-ground test device with 1553B bus, and has better guidance and reference for further research.
