The United States after independence established confederacy system didn't make the United States as a country in the true sense. Confederate period of chaos to United States by the constituent assembly has intensified the central power. Although the 1789 constitution from the legal provisions on the federalism state in the United States, but it has not fundamentally solve the contradictions of federal power and states' rights, states' rights ideas still have considerable influence. In some parts of the region political and economic interests, states' rights as weapons against the central government, even at the separation as means to achieve its political objectives. Since the early 19th century, there were three local political forces for separation of regional interests and activities. The central government to safeguard national unity and firmly struggle against separation, finally eliminated long plagued the United States of the separatist tradition, established the federal authority of the central government. This article through to the three times of separation and the separation of battle research, summarizes the separation of America's struggle to succeed. At the same time this paper argues that the successful experience of the United States in the struggle against separation for countries around the world provide some useful implications and helpful when dealing with similar issues.
