The purpose of investigation of Hefei 7-12 year-old children of school age sleep-disordered breathing status quo , influencing factors and harm to children , to provide a basis for the prevention and treatment of children with sleep disordered breathing . Methods A stratified cluster sampling method to extract four primary schools in four districts located in Hefei, East , South , West , North , 2200 for the survey, students in school field survey carried out by their parents , to understand them sleep apnea epidemiological characteristics of the occurrence of obstacles study of sleep-disordered breathing in children , affecting factors , and the risk to children . Results 7-12 year-old children of school age in Hefei bedtime intermittent snoring incidence 51.7% incidence of 5% , habitual snoring and other sleep -disordered breathing -related symptoms such as labored breathing , shortness of breath , nasal too loud , sleep apnea the incidence of 2.1% , 1.4% , 13.5% , 0.7% , risk factors include children habitually snoring children of atopic diseases ( asthma , allergic rhinitis , allergic dermatitis ) , the mother during pregnancy atopic sex diseases , male , chronic tonsillitis , parent , severe snoring mother , father smoking smoking family members , a partial eclipse . Habitual snoring children compared with no or occasional snoring children are more vulnerable to nocturnal enuresis , daytime sleepiness , decreased attention , the two age groups of 7 -year-old and 8-year-old children with habitual snoring height lower than the control group . Conclusion Hefei 7-12 year-old children a higher incidence of sleep-disordered breathing , cause some harm , which should attract the attention of the majority of parents and medical staff on children 's growth and development and cognitive behavioral
