The reciprocating pumps used in oil-well drilling is the core equipment of oil exploitation processes. Drilling pumps’working atmosphere is very vile and fault occurs frequently, which will influence normal work. In practical production, condition monitoring, maintenance and management on reciprocating pumps are almost the level of 80’or 90’last century. According to the practical situation of monitoring and fault diagnosis of reciprocating pumps and considering the developing trend of oil analysis technology home and abroad, this thesis made triplex single acting piston drilling pump as its concrete object of study, and use oil analysis technology to monitoring and fault diagnosis of reciprocating pump. based on theoretical research, we summarized several years’using experiences of drilling pumps of Jiangsu oil field, and did much research on the software system about monitoring and fault diagnosis of reciprocating.This thesis used fuzzy theory and neural network to ferrographic image automatic recognition. And MATLAB’s image processing toolbox is used to compile program to process image automatically. It had realized the intelligent analysis of wear particles. This method avoided the disadvantage factor which exists in the artificial analysis, and improved the accurate rate of automatic identifying of wear particles. A standard of sampling and analysis for drilling pump had been made. This laid a foundation for accuracy of the analysis system.A database system, which was convenient to be used was set up to solve the problem of dynamic storage for dynamic storage. Pretreatment module and automatic introduction function was also increased to avoid a lot of manual transference of data and improve the rate and accuracy of data input.In order to improve the rate and accuracy of oil analysis and fault diagnosis, a thought that single diagnosis and fusion diagnosis must be based on state was given. Single diagnosis can avoid analytical redundancy, increase rate, and is suitable for good lubrication condition. Fusion diagnosis can analyze completely, has high accuracy and is suitable for bad lubrication condition. Life forecasting function of the system not only considered design life of pumps, but also analyzed the results of monitoring synthetically. This provided reliable basis for maintain of machine.A lot of sampling and analysis proved effectiveness, practicality, function and reliability of the monitoring system of reciprocating pumps based on lubrication. At the same time, concrete measures for drilling pump was also discussed. Water pollution control and mud pollution control is the key of maintenance of drilling pump.
