This study China and South Korea elementary school English textbooks as an object of study , the use of comparative analysis , literature and interviews and other research methods , a thorough analysis of comparative studies of primary school English textbooks in China and South Korea , on the basis of the comparison , the current primary school the problem presented in English textbooks and reform proposals . Studies have shown that primary school English textbooks in China and South Korea have a lot in common types of discourse and part design , design language knowledge material selection and language skills activities ; language input , content arrangement of cultural awareness training and learning strategies and so there are differences . According to the results of a comparative study of primary school English textbooks in China and South Korea , the following recommendations are of primary school English textbook reform . ( 1) in the surface structure of language design , the need to increase the content of some of the characteristics of the times , the interdisciplinary discourse , to reduce the number of unit illustrations integrated part forum . (2) on a knowledge of the language , should focus on arrangements with the learning of English speech knowledge , appropriate to reduce the amount of words , the system layout grammar content . ( 3) on the learning of language skills , should pay attention to balanced learning English four skills the coordinate distribution ratio . (4 ) cultural awareness training , should be selected and cultural knowledge of their culture and country , to enable students to develop multicultural literacy . ( 6 ) focus on the primary school English teaching materials with the use of materials . Also, pay attention to the textbook writing particularity .
