Objective. To evaluate the value of 64-slice CT Colonography in diagnosing colorectal neoplasmMaterials and methods:168 patients suspected colorectal neoplasm underwent 64-slice spiral CT scans after bowel cleaning and rectal air insufflating. The CT date was transmitted to the workstation and was performed respectively, and the patients underwent double contrast barium enema and colonoscopy. All images were separately evaluated by two experienced radiologists.Sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of the CT colonography findings and DCBE findings were evaluated, and compared with colonoscopy or surgical biopsy. The results were analyzed with SPSS 14.0 software. Results:CT colonography correctly depicted 165 lesions of 171 lesions which were detected by colonoscopy or surgical biopsy. The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of CT colonography were 96.55%,90.91%,and 95.6%;The sensitivity, specificity and Accuracy of DCBE were 93.0%,72.7%,and 82.2%,(P>0.05).In neoplasms of 5mm or smaller, the sensitivity, specificity and Accuracy of CT colonography were 80.95%,85.71%,and 83.3%;The sensitivity, specificity and Accuracy of DCBE were 57.1%,69.5%,and 63.6%,(P>0.05).In neoplasms of 5.1mm to 9.9mm, the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of CT colonography were 91.67%, 100%,and 94.4%.;The sensitivity, specificity and Accuracy of DCBE were 75%, 80%,and 76.5%.(P>0.05).Conclusion:64-slice spiral CT is valuable in detecting colorectal neoplasms. Objective:To evaluate the value of 64-slice CT Colonography in the preoperative staging of colorectal carcinomasMaterials and method168 patients suspected colorectal neoplasm underwent 64-slice spiral CT scans after bowel cleaning and rectal air insufflating. The CT date was transmitted to the workstation and was performed respectively.Eighty-nine of the 168 patients were proved to have colorectal carcinoma by surgical pathology. All images were separately evaluated by two experienced radiologists. The findings of CT colonography of 91 patients treated with surgical pathology examination staging. Results:For evaluation of T staging, the sensitivity, specificity and Accuracy is 98.6% (69/70),85%(17/20),and 92.3%(84/91).For evaluation of N staging, the sensitivity, specificity and Accuracy is 87.8%(36/41),96%(48/50),and 82.4%.Conclusion:64-slice spiral CT play a significant role in the preoperative staging of colorectal carcinoma,is useful to detect the lymph nodes.
