Study on Theory and Experiment of Wire Drawing with Composite Ultrasonic Vibration

Wire drawing with ultrasonic vibration which belongs to a kind of ultrasonic plastic processing technology is a new processing technology through transferring ultrasonic vibration to common wire drawing. Based on our previous research, this dissertation introduces the factor affecting mentallic plastic transmutation and the basic of mentallic wire drawing. The theory of ultrasonic drawing was studied and experiments was done on the basis of reading and analyzing a large quantity of correlative references .In this dissertation, a study on the effect and influence of composite ultrasonic vibration, axial ultrasonic vibration and radial ultrasonic vibration to wire-drawing is made by the finite element simulating analysis. In the result of the simulation, the stress and wire force and contact friction is emphatically analyzed. Analysis results shows that: the stress and wire force and contact friction of wire-drawing of composite ultrasonic vibration reduce more than axial ultrasonic vibration and radial ultrasonic vibration.Some fundamental four-terminal network matrix and frequency equation are given on the basis of one-dimensional and longitudinal vibration locomotory equation of variable cross-sectional bar. Composite ultrasonic vibration apparatus is designed by the principle and requirements of wire-drawing system with ultrasonic vibrations, the vibration modes and characteristics were analyzed for its correct design. Axial ultrasonic vibration device is also designed for the sake of drawing stainless steel. For the sake of ensuring wire-drawing experiment’s efficiency, vibration measurement of the vibration apparatus is realized by microscope on the base of match analysis of the ultrasonic drive supply and the vibration apparatus, according to whose circuit model impedance is measured by a impedance analyzer.Finally, copper wire-drawing experiment on a practical draw bench LH-200/17 of Harbin cable works were carried out. Wire force is analyzed during the wire-drawing of three kinds of ultrasonic vibration. And stainless steel wire-drawing experiment were carried out for the composite ultrasonic vibration and high-power ultrasonic vibration. The drawing-force value, surface topography and microstructure topography affected by three kinds of ultrasonic vibration are also anlyzed. By qualitative analysis of the experiment, composite ultrasonic vibration can reduce drawing force and prolong the adjusting tensile force cycle more prominently than the other ultrasonic vibration. Ultrasonic vibration can reduce drawing force , improve the quality of the copper-wire and eliminate the condition of broken wires fully.
