The GML as de facto spatial data encoding , transmission , storage, and publishing international standards , increasingly the GIS industry's concerns , it highlights the advantages of geographic information sharing and exchange for a majority of researchers generally agree . Existing GIS software and data format of GML to provide direct support , therefore , the data recipient need the GML conversion to its own data format related operations , resulting in a secondary data conversion , data sharing lead again difficult. To GML application technology research and profiling based on the internal logic of relations between each the GML application of technology , the technical modules were designed in order to build the integration of the GML data processing platform , to ensure the internal integrity of the technical modules unity. Parsing component using DOM technology designed GML to create GML parsing mechanism . Extended quadtree - based thinking , design GML index components , create a GML indexing mechanism . With data rendering component of GDI drawing , design space , to create GML graphics rendering mechanism . Reference spatial data analysis component of the open source software under the premise of the above technologies , the development of the operating GML function modules , to this point , an organic system with open source characteristics of the system from the ground up to support GML . GML parsing , indexing , rendering technical studies, the initial formation of of the GMLGIS data manipulation engine , the organic integration of the various components were well clear of the role played by the various parts of the entire system . GML spatial data editing , query , analysis, design of functional modules , the system has been improved . GMLGIS eventually achieve efficient seamless sharing of spatial data to provide a approach the GMLGIS traditional GIS integration with the existing technical advantages of promote the GML technical applications in depth , real GML - based spatial data sharing can be achieved .
