With the development of mobile phones , digital cameras and other microelectronic products , the thin and light portable projection system of the future will become a mainstream projection technology is also an urgent need for a portable revolution . Faced with this demand , miniature projection technology is the rapid rise to become the new hot spot for the industry 's development . LCOS ( liquid crystal on silicon ) projection technology is the direction of the development of miniature projection . This paper first introduces the aberration theory and ZEMAX optical design software , and then by aberration theory and experience in the design of the projection lens and LCOS microdisplay chip characteristics , analytical that LCOS micro projection lens should be using the lens structure of the image side telecentric retrofocus by Gaussian optical analysis of the relationship between like square telecentric retrofocus the the structural parameters of the objective lens , according to the design specifications of the objective lens LCOS micro projector , select a U.S. patent as a starting value using ZEMAX software to optimize design . The actual optical total length control in 80mm full field of view of 72 ° projection screen up to 28 \LCOS micro projection lens tolerance analysis , with satisfactory results .
