Research on Knowledge Management and Its Application in Teachers’ Professional Development

As human society entered the era of knowledge economy, knowledge has been increasingly becoming core competencies for success. In the era of knowledge economy, characterized by information and knowledge explosion, managers are not only concerned about how to acquire knowledge, but also focus on management of knowledge and creative use of knowledge. Thus, knowledge management has attracted wide attention, also its application fields are extended to education, government and other social spheres. In the information age, simply teaching or dedicating to education is no longer enough, more expert teachers with high quality are called according to the demand of the times. Teachers’ professional, an inevitable trend of the reform of international teacher education, has arisen more and more regard of all countries.After analyzing the definition of teachers’ professional and problems existed in university teachers’ professional in this paper, we will use the theory and method of knowledge management to solve these problems, and deal with the knowledge of teachers from the aspect of knowledge structure of teachers through utilizing theories and techniques of knowledge management. Taking knowledge of educational technology teachers for example, by using the way of knowledge reasoning in knowledge engineering, knowledge of educational technology teachers are summarized and analyzed, then we extracted basic knowledge unit, built domain knowledge base, designed knowledge diagrams, processed and transformed knowledge, finally built knowledge management platform for educational technology teachers, which can effectively improve the efficiency of teachers, integrate information resources, help teachers to develop teaching abilities, skills and experience, expand professional knowledge and skills of teachers and promote teachers’ professional development.Knowledge management platform for educational technology teachers, built in this paper, can be as a model for teachers of other professions. So it has important theoretical significance. The knowledge representation model, domain knowledge base, knowledge diagrams and methods of dynamic association of knowledge search, developed in this paper, can be also extended to other knowledge management systems, and therefore have great application value.
