Water Resources is the basic survival condition of human, as the important carrier and collecting place of water resources, the river gave birth to the old civilization, of course, they are the important foundation to the progress and development of the modern society. However, with the development of human society and the increase of human quantity, the demand of water resources is mounting up too. Meanwhile, because of the climate change and the influence to the surface of basins by human activities, the perennial rivers are becoming the man-made seasonal or even disconnection. The man-made seasonal rivers not only strongly impact the eco-environment, but also the development of human society to some extent. This study did research on the problem of man-made seasonal to the natural rivers, by way of ecological compensation to form a water quantity restoration mechanism of man-made seasonal rivers.The main contents of this study are:by the analysis of current internal and international research status, summarize the existing problems and put the research contents of this study forward. By way of the water cycling, educe the river eco-system and its formation, classification etc. Based on the former introduction to elicit the concept of man-made seasonal rivers, and describe the problems involved of the man-made seasonal rivers in detail. Through the profound research of the theory and process of ecological compensation, combined with the water quantity restoration of man-made seasonal rivers problems, construct the water quantity restoration mechanism of man-made seasonal rivers, then described the contents and process in detail. In order to testify the feasibility and the maneuverability of the mechanism, this study chose the Jialu River in Zhengzhou as a spot, carry the mechanism through to research the effect of water quantity restoration in the seasonal part of Jialu River. Combined the results of research and experiment, put the conclusions of this study forward.The main results of this study are:in order to solve the problem of water quantity restoration, this thesis construct the water quantity restoration mechanism of man-made seasonal rivers, this mechanism considers the profits of every aspect and can coordinate them very well. Through the practice of this mechanism on the Jialu River in Zhengzhou, the feasibility and the maneuverability has been testified. It could give advices and suggestions to other rivers that also faced the problem of water quantity shortage.
