This thesis introduces the AMESim multidisciplinary system engineering senior modeling and simulation software and the dynamic characteristics of the belt conveyor based on dynamic design theory research. According to the dynamic characteristics of belt conveyor, it put forward using AMESim to establish the belt conveyor system dynamic simulation model.After studying of the conveyor belt、tension device、driving device and etc it given their dynamic model and each part mathematical equations. According to the characteristics of modeling in AMESim, and the characteristics of each belt conveyor part model, chose accurate model about the belt conveyor each parts in AMESim. Using AMESim to create belt conveyor system dynamics simulation model, it simulated the starting process of belt conveyor. In view of the influence on belt at starting process, compared the belt tension with different starting acceleration curve and different starting time, it resulted the optimum starting acceleration curve and the best starting time.It verified the above analysis through modeling simulation the belt conveyor for example at one mine. Through the simulation it showed that AMESim suitable for belt conveyor system dynamic simulation. It showed that AMESim suitable for belt conveyor system dynamic simulation. For engineering design, it provided a good dynamic design tools and make engineering design freed from complex mathematical modeling to focus on the design of physical system itself. By the AMESim graphical modeling, general engineering design personnel can also master the dynamic belt conveyor design methods, in the design process without written any program code, also need not consider the decoding mathematical equations.
