At present, the economy of China is in the period of rapid development, the government’s strengthening infrastructural investment policy has promoted the construction project’s sustainable development. Progress of the project management is a key element of project management. Whether the project is delivered within the scheduled time is directly related to the economic and social benefits of the project. Complexity, difficulty and importance of the modern engineering construction project decide the need for establishing the performance evaluation system of schedule management, and to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the project objective, comprehensive, efficiently and accurately, and to detect and solve problems. Objective evaluation of the status quo of progress on the project is both the basis of progress control and the foundation of project management decision-making.This paper starts from the actual status of performance evaluation of the progress management, combined with the progress management features and foreign advanced concepts on performance evaluation, and objective analyze of the problems in theory and practical application.On this basis, building a new engineering project schedule management performance evaluation system model and using fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method to evaluate the performance of the progress of the project for large NanShan tunnel, and finally propose further research directions.
