This article is based on Chomsky 's theory of transformational grammar , to track a comparative study of English and Chinese . The paper first discusses the language track as part of the empty category semantic , syntactic , and philosophy major , then briefly describes the purpose and role of the comparative study . Then , through an objective review of the evaluation , comparing the similarities and differences between Chinese and English tracks in the classification and distribution , and to discuss some controversial issues , a reasonable explanation . In order to facilitate the comparative study , we selected the syntactic structure contains common in the English and Chinese language track , including passive structure , relative clauses , theme, structure , and WH- questions . Based on our analysis of these syntactic structures generated and the inherent characteristics of the generated which language track , classify and make a comparative analysis referred to with the limitations on different tracks in various syntactic structure theory of transformational grammar of English and Chinese reasonable explanation. This paper argues that the English language track with Chinese language track classification . However , English is the heavy sentence structure of the language , and Chinese heavy discourse of language , so there are differences between the language track generated . Overall , the English language track generated by the shift , it must be subject to various restrictions in the shift theory ; Chinese as a heavy discourse of language , sentence structure and more generated by the underlying language tracks thus generated by the shift less, it is demonstrated in the restricted broader degree of freedom than the English . This article aims to better explore comparative study trace expression of syntactic and semantic expressions in English and Chinese , and their formation rules , which in-depth understanding of their similarities and differences .
