The growth and development of the private colleges and universities to change the situation of China 's investment in higher education has long borne exclusively by the state finance , broaden the channels of the source of funding of higher education , to reduce the state's financial burden , increase investment in higher education and the supply of resources , ease the Higher a serious imbalance in the contradiction between supply and demand of education . Private colleges and universities in the development of the popularization of higher education will play an increasingly important role , and there is a lot of room for growth .
