Study on the Identification and Cultivation of the Core Competence of Xinjiang Cotton Textile Corporation

With the upgrading and evolution of world textile industry, the industrial centre began to shift gradually to developing countries in Asia since the 1980s, such as mainland China, India, Pakistan and Southeast Asia. At the same time, the domestic textile industry showed a new pattern by emerging a tendency of the migration of industrial gradient from east to west. Xingjiang has uniquely excellent conditions to develop cotton textile industry, for instance, abundant raw material resources and energy security advantage like coal and electric, bridgehead for the all-out development of the western regions, and unique regional ethic characteristics. Xingjiang should seize the opportunity to change the resource advantage into economic and industrial competitive advantage. In the new economic situation, core competence of enterprises will finally determine the economic development of the whole region, and become the source of valid regional core advantage. Under the trend of integration of world economy, enhancing the core competence of the cotton industry, the pillar industry in Xingjiang, will contribute to realize the distinctive resources transformation strategy. It is also very useful to solve surplus rural labor in Xingjiang, increase the income of rural residents, promote the stabilization and development of the frontier and build a moderately prosperous society.This paper uses the methods of induction, the combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis, the combination of theoretical and empirical study to analyze the Core Competence in Xinjiang Cotton Textile Enterprise. First is the introduction of the research background, significance, intention, train of thought, method and framework. Second is the frame analysis of this study, definition of the connotation and analysis of its characteristic and function, analysis of the mechanism of how to form the textile enterprise’s core competence. At the same time, the thesis builds core competitive Identification and Evaluation model in the field of the textile industry in Xingjiang, which is based on the value chain theory and the identification index system of the core competence. Further more, I use the model identify and evaluate the core competence of TianHong Textile Industry Co., Ltd. Finally, according to the problems aroused in the development of the textile enterprise in Xingjiang, we carry on a research on various paths of cultivating the textile enterprise’s core competitiveness and hence bring forward many specific countermeasures on fostering their own core competence.
