The Research on Bamboo’s Fiber/Polypropylene Composit

The plant fiber reinforced thermoplastic composite has many advantages,such as high tenacity, environmental protection, easy handling about disuse, light weight, continual development and so on. It has been used in car and architecture industry in foreign countries, but in China less work has been done on this research.This study mixes the modified bamboo fiber and the modified polypropylene fiber together, then exerts a quota spirit soluble phenolic resin to bond them and to be sheet.Mainly includes four parts,(1)Extraction and modification of bamboo fiber. The extraction of nature bamboo fiber is profited from the bast fiber chemistry degumming technology, the nature bamboo fiber extracts from rolled thicker fiber which is suitable for nonwoven craft and has a better flexible by the most superior design method. The break tensile strength of modified bamboo fiber is 5.2cN/dtex.(2) The modification of polypropylene fiber. Uses the plasma modification to increase its wettability, And then test its hygroscopicity, Inspected the effect of discharge power, processing time and handle pressure on the polypropylene fiber by orthogonal design. The best technical parameters are:discharge power is 50W, processing time is 5min and handle pressure is 20Pa.(3) The manufacture and analysis of low-density composite materials Observe the effect of the proportion of bamboo and polypropylene, board density, hot-pressing temperature and pressure through orthogonal experiment. The mixed fiber precompression under the low pressure hot conditions to become the 5mm thick low density to low-density composite materials, and guarantee polypropylene fiber will not melt. The best technical parameters are:the density is 0.65g/m3, the proportion of bamboo and polypropylene is 70:30, the hot-pressing temperature is 140℃, the hot-pressing time is 11min. Under this condition, the board has the best tensile strength and internal bonding strength,6.3MPa and 0.28MPa respectively.(4)Manufacture, performance test and and analysis of compound board. According to the characteristics of bamboo fiber and polypropylene fiber,choose the reasonable adhesive.Several experiments prove that the alcohol-soluble PF is appropriate adhesive. Come up with the reasonable resin content by single factor, then under the premise of fixed resin content, Observe the effect of the board density, hot-pressing temperature and pressure through orthogonal experiment. The better technical parameters are:the density is 1.1g/m3, the proportion of bamboo and polypropylene is 60:40, the hot-pressing temperature is 180℃, the hot-pressing time is 13min. Under this condition the compound board has the best mechanical strength. MOR is 31.7MPa,MOE is 3.5GPa and impact strength is 12.3 KJ/m2.
