As the socio-economic development , the growing of motor vehicles , followed by vehicle traffic safety issues more and more attention around the world . In a sense, the driving motor vehicles greater risk than driving trains , ships and aircraft . Recent studies show that : 30 percent of traffic accidents car crash driver fatigue driving . Therefore , many countries have actively carried out research on driver fatigue . In reference to the existing literature at home and abroad on the basis of the evaluation study the state of the driver's eyes whether the driver is driver fatigue . First, face detection technology based on skin color model , color and non- color area separation , then the use of the algorithm based on the boundary of the 4-connected boundary to quickly and accurately bounding rectangle contains the face region ; eye detection in order to improve the speed , the paper presents a novel eye detection method , the gray projection curve gray histogram estimate initial threshold combination of the human eye to detect , test results show that this method is fast and accurate ; Kalman Filter and Mean Shift algorithm phase binding to the human eye tracking, the tracking effect of this method in the actual light preferably also be able to accurately track the eye part blocking or closed ; using the template matching method , and similarity as a standard to evaluate the eye state ; basis the eyes closed duration the percentage PERCLOS value and eyes closed duration of the size of the judgment of the degree of fatigue of the driver .
