AVS is audio and video standard of china with technique property right.Its poformance is higher than MPEG-2 standard, and corresponds to H.264. In the domain of video and audio, restricted by the high expense property right of MPEG-2 and H.264, it is necessary to develop our video and audio standard.AVS-M is the Part 7 of AVS Standard for the moving multimedia video, network meeting and mobile TV. The research and technical engineer need a professional analyse tool which can compare and evaluate different compression algorithms or compression tools. Tektronix Company had announced their MTS4EA on September 8th. 2004. But there are no one for AVS all of the world. So it is real necessary to develop essential stream analyse software.I used the MTS4EA demo and summary all of its exellent functions, studied the AVS-M standard, design the architecture of the software, and wrote C code of all the function moduel on VC++ 6.0, optimized AVS-M decoder by using MMX. I also researched a fast inter mode selection algorithm to optimize reference encoder and do the test.
