Block is the basic unit of a city, the natural environment in the block (sunshine,ventilation,radiation,precipitation,etc) is colsely related to people’s lives, the layout and the scale of the buildings in blocks will effect the nature environment around themselves. In recent years, how to adapt and improve the nature environment is more and more important in architecture and urban desin, even as an important criterion to judge the success of the design, and relavant normative acts have been compiled into books.However, at present the study on the wind environment around buildings is very limited,In fact, better wind environment will make great effect to adjust the temperature and air humidity, Therefore, to study on the wind environment around the city blocks is very necessary and important. In this paper,we try to analysis the wind environment around the traditional blocks beside the Changjiang River, to summary the wind environment between different blocks and different layouts of buildings.Because of the complexity and variability of field measurement,the numerical simulation is used to study on the wind environment around the typical blocks. By analyzing the wind velocity and the vector distribution, the rules can be drawn that how the city blocks can adapt to the wind environment. Meanwhile, on the problem of block reconstruction,in this paper some strategies are concluded to improve the wind environment of Deshengqiao block,and at the last part the numerical simulation is verified.Most of the existing numerical simulation of wind environment are study on the indoor air environment, in this paper,the thread was expanded, numerical simulation is apllied to study on block layouts which are more widely. The core idea of this paper is to analyze the wind environmental conditions of real blocks, and study on the mrophology that how it adapt to the wind environment, at last back to the real problems, to verify the scaling law.The factors that effect the wind environment around real blocks are summaried , and some study on the simulation of reconstructing blocks are tested, all of these can be used for refernce to study the wind environment around blocks as well as the way to make numerical simulation.
