With the development of clinical epidemiology, the evidence-based medicine has developed rapidly. Adapting to the evidence-based medicine has become the inevitable direction of development of electronic medical records that has become an important clinical data. Electronic medical record is the application of computer-based medical information technology, electronic medical record is based on a specific system of electronic patient records, the system provides user access to complete and accurate data, alerts, tips, and clinical decision support system. This requires standardized electronic medical records can reflect a systematic treatment, accurate and detailed medical records, and convenient query statistics. Nevertheless, the current query technique is mainly based on keyword matching which in accuracy and efficiency are unable to meet user requirements. But as a kind of conceptual modeling tools which can describe information systems in semantic and knowledge in the level, ontology technology has a good concept of hierarchy and the support of logical reasoning. Therefore, ontology technology in information retrieval, especially in the knowledge-based retrieval has been widely applied.The main purpose of this subject is that applying the ontology technology in information retrieval of electronic medical records in order to improve search quality that make up for the disadvantage of search that relys solely on keyword, the recall rate and precision rate is not accurate. After studying the mode of the current searching, according to the characteristics of ontology and definition, proposed a new retrieval model, analysised and researched the semantics analysis processing of the model, similarity calculation, semantic extension and other aspects, major research work includes:(1)Using of ontology in the hierarchical structure of the relationship to extend the concept of content to achieve the purpose of semantic extension, realizing an intelligent reasoning of information retrieval system.(2)According to formal ontology and relationship among the various elements of ontology, Proposed a new concept of semantic similarity calculation. Allows the system to the concept of the similarity computation, and the query structure can be sorted and showde according to similarity.(3)Achieved based on Jena’s ontology storage, and use the RDQL language to query the concept of ontology which includes the explicit and implicit relational.(4) Design the information systems architecture retrievalof and realize the semantics of query analysis and expansion of queries, query results on the prioritization function.(5)Design an electronic medical information retrieval prototype system that the concept of query and extended query improve the retrieval accuracy and comprehensiveness, achieved the intelligent search in the field resources.
