In World War II , the U.S. government proposed a grand strategy to compete with the Soviet Union for world hegemony . The strategy is costly and contrary to the traditional , to make it smooth implementation depends on domestic support . The U.S. government has always viewed from a strategic perspective with the Soviet hegemony and handles China policy , largely , the China policy as to win domestic support of its grand strategy of a bargaining chip . Members of Congress , the China lobby is the use of it , to promote the anti-communism of the grant Chiang for their own profit-making . U.S. general public has been kept in the dark , do not know the truth . The above aspects destined to aid Chiang anti-communism is the mainstream of the U.S. policy in this period , and final positioning does not recognize the new China its hostile coordinates .
