Computer network management has a very important position in the construction, operation and maintenance of computer networks, mainly responsible for the management of heterogeneous networks and provide people with reliable, high-quality service. This article first introduced the functional model of the network management, communication protocols, information model and management model, and pointed out the defects of the traditional manager - agent model in the management of large, complex network, and then compare the two Web-based technology network management model (the WBEM and JMAPI), both with respect to the superiority of the manager - agent model, but also pointed out its shortcomings. Then, the authors propose a network management model based on CORBA / SNMP technology from the model function, the system constitute the model are described in detail, and a key part of its relates to, such as CORBA-gt; SNMP gateway, SNMP Naming Service, the SNMP MIB data warehouse services SNMP protocol encapsulation Service, SNMP notification service, SNMP service to retrieve aspects of the research and discussion. CORBA-gt; SNMP gateway is the core of the model, the main achievement of the following functions: complete SNMP MIB variable as the core to the conversion between the object as the core CORBA IDL interface, and dynamic the IDL interface generation object reference; would The interface properties of the operation is converted to SNMP request message and to convert messages returned by the SNMP agent side into the return value; listen for SNMP traps and notifications port and SNMP notification message into the OMG event, CORBA management sense registered through the event channel event of interest OMG. On this basis, design and implementation of the proposed network management model based on CORBA / SNMP technology. Solutions and implementation (using the Java language and the OOC implementation of the CORBA 2.3 specification ORBacus for java) and the key issues. Realization of the model has been tested in the management of the Northwestern University campus network, to good effect, greatly improving the efficiency and portability of network management application development and system integration. In order to verify the feasibility of the model proposed by the authors. Practice shows that we achieve network management model based on CORBA / SNMP technology, on the one hand make full use of the existing network management resources, on the other hand gradually migrate to object-oriented distributed network management platform, which addresses the complexity of network management platform and diversity issues, and network management applications in the form of objects and interfaces provide a unified service is the development trend of the future network management.
