Personnel training of agronomy speciality are a subsystem from the overall system of society in higher education. With the development of elements in social environment, the development of education system is expected, for instance, scale, construction, rate of development and standard of personnel training etc. Therefore, under the new situation, how to deepen education reform further, establish effective cooperation mechanism and strengthen the construction of subject construction and teaching staff need to intensive study, in order to accelerate the scientific and technical innovation, consequently, train senior talents who meet the needs of modern agricultural development.The aim of this study is to meet the requirement of teaching team construction proposed by Ministry of Education. On the basis of this aim, this study summarizes the laws of development of teaching team of crop science in Shihezi University, investigates the connotation and operational mechanism of best teaching team of agronomy speciality and analyzes the effect of modern science and technology on traditional construction of agronomy speciality. This study may help to provide support for the construction and development of teaching team of crop science. Additionally, the results obtained can offer reference for construction of relevant teaching team in Shihezi University.The results suggest that, teaching team of crop science in Shihezi University possesses some superiority and characteristics of the conditions for operating the university, the level of scientific research and pattern and quality of personnel training. Furthermore, this teaching team is characterized by mainstay of the younger teachers and doctors, high education background, optimal learning-origin structure, and headed the list with national distinguished teacher and Cheung Kong scholars. High level of teaching team could meets the social requirement of talented quality under the new situation, such as the personal training scheme, teaching content, teaching methodology and means, curriculum system course arrangement and practical teaching. The next aims of teaching team construction are a) possessing first-class teachers and conditions for operating the university compared to same agronomy speciality in country, b) revising and perfecting speciality training program according to the requirement of social development and agricultural ecomomy, c) accelerating the rate of promotion in this speciality using advanced biological technology, and information and management technology, d) enhancing teaching material development and teaching reform and establishing educational ideas of student-centered, and e) achieving the change from teaching and academic research to academic research and profession.
